Free Training
MBSwindon club are running a series of FREE beginner training courses this summer. Provided in conjunction with the CTC and led by a qualified mountain bike instructor, the course will teach you how to discover, ride and enjoy off-road routes that’ll take you through some stunning local countryside. Whether you’re a total novice who yearns to explore, someone who has owned a mountain bike for years and now wants to get more out of it or you want to learn how to take the kids on an adventure safely, this course is for you. Open to all aged 16 or over, the course will start/end at Barbury Castle and last around 4 hours (10am – 2pm). All you need is a well-maintained mountain bike, a helmet and a few basics. No previous skills (other than being able to ride a bike!) are needed and no-one will get left behind. The course is entirely free (similar commercial courses cost £60+!) and you do not need to be a member of the mbswindon MTB club in order to participate, however places are limited to six riders per course date and must be reserved in advance.

Castles Bike Ride – Macmillan Cancer Support
Everyone who can ride a bike, is local, and happens to have nothing better to do on Sunday 6th of June should consider signing up for this. Not only is it a good ride out across the Ridgeway, its also a great way of raising money for a very worthy cause. No prizes for finishing first, but there is an award for the largest finishing team. MB Swindon will be there as a team, please get in touch (with us) if you would like to join us.

Croft Trail
Spring has sprung at the trail, and it’s shaping up pretty well. The upside to all the bad weather is that it has allowed us to see where any areas requiring attention are, and we can work on getting these fixed for next winter. As always it will be a case of when volunteers/material/money/time allow. Work is continuing this weekend on the new Red section near the start loop. We’ll be there this coming Saturday between 13:00 and 17:00, and also on Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00. Feel free to pop along and get involved, even if you can only spare a few hours. We’ll meet down on the Red section. Walk round the new start until you get to the big pile of rocks and we’ll be down the hill there. Otherwise you can call us on 07010036444.
