The Grassy Knolls

air
Tim Norris is leading this ride on 10th May.
We will start at the Knoll Down car park near Beckhampton and via Morgans Hill Nature Reserve and the Furze Knoll bomb hole to reach Oliver’s Castle Hill Fort. We will wind our way back up over Cherhill and then follow NCR 403 to Avebury and then back to the start.
The route is about 30km and will have you steadily pedalling cross country rather than puffing up lots of hills, still giving you around 400m of elevation gain over the whole ride.
This has been a popular route and previous rides led by myself or Kristian Price have been thoroughly enjoyable. If you have ridden in the area before, some of the route will be familiar but there may be some new bits to some of you and, depending on the weather, we can take in some interesting diversions.
There is no Divine Cafe open on a Sunday at the moment, so we can stop either in Avebury or the the Waggon and Horses at Beckhampton for a “lemonade” very close to the end of the ride…
Directions:
Meeting point is a car park on the A4, the Calne side of the Beckhampton roundabout.

SN8 1QJ gets you to Beckhampton, at the roundabout head along the a4 towards Calne, the car park is a couple of hundred yards on your right.
