The Bristol Oktoberfest is another one of our big race events. Last year we entered lots of riders as soloists, pairs, teams of 3 and teams of 4. Everyone is encouraged to get involved – it’s a lot of fun even if you doubt your race credentials.
The venue (Ashton Court) is also used for the Bristol Bikefest which takes place in June each year. At this years Bikefest, the MBSwindon Race Team took 2nd in mixed pairs and 2nd in the male pairs, which was a fantastic result. But almost as important, everyone else who took part had a cracking time, whether they were taking it seriously or not.
As usual MBSwindon will have the race village gazebos set up, so feel free to use them to hide from the sun (or rain!) when you’re refuelling between laps. If you already have a team then it would be great if you enter as an MBSwindon team. If you haven’t got a team then contact us with your preferences:
solo/pair/team
race/for fun
and we’ll sort the team out for you, selecting others with the same preferences.
Still not convinced? Why not read the race reports from last years Oktoberfest? You can read Club rider Ben Mitchell’s report here, Garry Firth’s report for the Gravity Team (Gravity Team at an XC race!) here and Malcolm Toop-Rose from the XC Team reports here.
The amazing lens man, Jon Proudman, has over a hundred photos which can be found here.
Hopefully see you all there!
