This is part of our series of novice friendly events.
This will be lead by one of our more experienced riders and intended specifically for novice riders or those who want to build their confidence. Any other riders are welcome to come too, but the pace will be set for the new riders.
Meet at the Barbury Castle car park for a 10am start. Look out for the “GB Plumbing Services” van and the MBSwindon banner.
Bring food and water – the ride will take a few hours including stops.

Hi All,
Would love to join you on 30th Oct for the Novice ride – do I have to register or join MBSwindon?
Also – do I need to register for one of your croft trail novice rides on a Friday eve?
I recently did my first off road event, SPAM Erlestoke 30k which I absolutely loved. Just found it far too technical at times and I was completely afraid of any ‘drop offs’ etc….so I’m wanting to build confidence etc.
Hoping you can help with this!!!
I also have 2 friends interested as well.
Speak soon
Debbie 🙂
You’re more than welcome to come on two or three rides as a guest before deciding to join the club.
No need to register, just turn up on the day.
We did a number of skills days during the summer, lead by a qualified leader/instructor and have more planned for next year. However you don’t need to wait for these courses as there are many excellent riders in the club who will be happy to give you tips if you ask.
Hi Debbie
No need to register or join the club to attend any of our rides. We prefer to let people get a feel for the club first – a sort of “try before you buy” as it were.
Same applies for the Friday night rides at Croft, which are very informal and perfect for brushing up on skills and confidence.
You and your friends are more than welcome to join us anytime you like!
Hi Debbie,
it would be great to see you and your friends. No need to register or join. The way we see it, joining the club is something that people do once they’ve decided that they are enjoying themselves.
i would like to join you on a ridgeway ride but have not got a car. would it be possible to share a lift with someone i pay some thing to the petrol cost
Hi Paul, you’re very likely to find someone to give you a lift.
I’ll ask on the facebook event for you.
