Kristian was going to lead this Novice Friendly ride around the village of Box, except we just found out there’s a big community event on, so parking will be a nightmare.
Therefore it will now be a ride from Barbury Castle, encompassing Smeathes Ridge, the Ogbournes Rockley, New Totterdown Woods and the Ridgeway.
I found out this week that there is a community event in the village hall where I proposed we could park for the Box ride on the 9th March. Parking is quite limited there and there’s not much parking elsewhere in the village. I would not like to upset the locals by taking up a large number of spaces in their village hall car park, when their event has been advertised for some distance in the surrounding villages.
So, that being said I’m going to postpone the ride around Box for later in the year, and instead lead a ride from Barbury Castle on the same day, starting at 10am from the car park. This will be a loop encompassing Smeathes Ridge, the Ogbournes Rockley, New Totterdown Woods and the Ridgeway.
