Forest of Dean Visit

Stephen Cox is organising a day out on the trails in the Forest of Dean. The site can get pretty busy, so get there in plenty of time to meet at the pedalabikeaway cafe for a 10.00am start.

Price of parking is £7 for up to 4 hours or £8 for the whole day. Steve will likely be there most of the day.

Everyone will need to take at least a water bottle. The Cafe does free refills for water. Food can be purchased at the café or we can bring our own food for lunch.

As always, bring a spare tube. A multitool might also be handy, but not essential. There is also a bike shop on site if spares are required.

Decide whether you want to go solo, or ride in a group led by Steve. He will be doing the Verderers trail; this is a blue trail which has a couple of steep up and downs but should be fine for novices.

He will also be looking at doing Countdown and Launchpad; these are blue flow trails, and should be fine for a novice. If anyone wants to, we can look at the skills area for drops and jumps, all of these are rollable if anyone is unsure.

If anyone wants to try the red trails, Steve can guide these too. Note that the push up to the downhill trail is very steep.

We can take plenty of breaks as needed, to allow everyone to catch up. No-one gets left behind.

All trails and downhills can be taken slowly. Again if anyone needs talking through the trail, Steve can do that.
