Steve from Hargroves Cycles is taking us on this interesting route in uncharted territory on Walbury hill near Hungergford. He’s promising around 21 miles and 790m of ascent.
Steve says: “entirely off road, the descents are generally very fast, there is one technical one with loose off camber chalky corners. The climbs are quite stiff with one very steep one and one technical one. “

update on the walbury hill ride – have test ridden most of the route today and its weathered well. solid ground with some slick top surfaces in places. the eastern car park is the best meet point, however if thats full then the western one is also fine as we go past it on the ride. both car parks are free but can get very windy as we’re right a the top to start. anyone who needs more info then let me know, i can also provide a number to contact on if that helps. It’s about 70% off road. i counted well over 30 pheasants on the track today and about 29 of them were stupid!
western car park now!
