Trail build report: 2nd Aug 2011

New trail taking shape at Croft Trail in Swindon.

This was another last minute build evening. Phil and myself (Tom) were joined by Chris and Steve. We made some more progress digging out the new line in the triangle section.

I had ridden the whole section on the previous Friday evening ride. I’d found three corners that were too tight, so we adjusted the line at those points.

Overall my test ride had shown that the simpler layout worked well and made a lot more sense than the old triangle route.

Steve is giving the trail a large quantity of rocks that are currently in the Freshbrook community centre car park. We’ve got to work out how to transport the largest of them. We think we need a HIAB truck.
