From the organisers…
“Here at AOMBR, we’re looking forward to riding a new venue for a ‘British Cycling Go-Race’ on a course which has been built by GWR’s CycloCross promotion team. The course has recently received a seal of approval from Terry (Rocky) Rock and Grant Bayton of British Cycling. They certainly know their way around a good course and this one promises to be a good test for all newcomers to the sport of mountain biking, with plenty of climbing on a par with Dalby Forest, but without the world cup level descents. The course has plenty of single track in two wooded sections and some fast open downland, not to mention the final single track climb, and descent, which drops through the trees to keep you smiling!
The race will be a Go-Ride event and is aimed at grass roots cycling. This packed day of racing will start at 12 noon with a local primary school race and other Fun categories. The afternoon will see an Elite race and also Junior and Vets categories for both male and female riders.
Entry on the line will be taken for the AOMBR race from 11 am on Monday 4 June.

Ashbury village is holding many events over the bank holiday weekend and this is sure to be one of the key attractions (see http://www.ashbury.org.uk/jubilee2012.php for more).”
